Mechanical Engineer Location: Danbury, CT (On-site) Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary Range: $65,000–$75,000 We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support a growing manufacturing company in Danbury, CT. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical design, SolidWorks modeling, and contributing to automation and COBOT welding projects. With a strong pipeline of work—including multiple robotics/automation installations—this is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in a collaborative, engineering-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Mechanical Design & Engineering • Collaborate with project managers on engineering projects, including COBOT welding automation and robotics initiatives • Ensure complete and accurate mechanical engineering design for all assigned projects • Apply engineering expertise to equipment design, troubleshooting, and quality improvement • Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks • Generate fabrication Bills of Materials (BOMs) through ERP systems • Support improvements to existing products and manufacturing techniques Technical & Cross-Functional Work • Work effectively with teams across automation, robotics, and welding • Provide mechanical design input for COBOT welding systems and robotic solutions • Utilize knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal, and welding • Apply basic programming knowledge related to PLCs and manufacturing equipment Must-Have Qualifications • BS in Mechanical Engineering • Proficiency in SolidWorks (parts, sheet metal, assemblies, drawings) • Experience with 2D drafting tools such as DraftSight or AutoCAD • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) • Strong communication and documentation skills • Ability to collaborate across automation, robotics, and welding engineering teams Nice-to-Have Skills • PLC programming or troubleshooting • Robotics or automation experience • COBOT welding exposure • Experience with CNC machines or CNC programming • MIG welding or sheet metal knowledge Employee Value Proposition • Join a growing manufacturer with a strong backlog of work • Opportunity to support new automation and robotics installations, including COBOT welding projects • Excellent benefits and strong internal development opportunities • Hands-on, collaborative engineering environment Work Environment • 100% On-site in Danbury, CT • Work closely with engineering, automation, robotics, and production teams • Fast-paced environment with strong opportunity for skill development Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Danbury, CT.
