The Compliance Associate will assist in all aspects of the compliance program across Acorns and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves maintaining compliance documents, conducting reviews, and supporting regulatory exams and requests.
Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience in a financial services company and possess excellent communication skills. An Associate's degree is required, and a FINRA SIE is preferred.

Compliance Associate | Acorns Acorns is seeking a Compliance Associate to assist in all aspects of the compliance program across Acorns and its subsidiaries. This role will report to the Sr. Manager of Compliance and carry out Acorns’ culture of compliance by enhancing the company’s compliance programs, maintaining policies and procedures, analyzing regulatory changes, providing credible risk-based regulatory advice, and developing a close relationship with compliance’s business partners throughout the organization. Specifically, this role will be responsible for supporting the integrity of compliance programs across Acorns entities through frequent and rigorous review of the Written Supervisory Procedures (WSPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and various other critical compliance documents applicable to different regulatory frameworks, including investment advisory, broker-dealer, and banking regulations. Additionally, this role will assist with other aspects of enterprise-wide compliance, including testing and monitoring, customer complaints and social media QA reviews, overall recordkeeping, audits, and examinations. Under manager supervision, this role will address routine to moderately complex issues and combine analysis, wisdom, and experience to arrive at sound conclusions and recommendations. Additionally, this role works with department leadership, takes initiative in handling challenging issues and situations, as well as making thorough recommendations and actionable plans, to improve internal and external compliance processes. What you’ll do at Acorns: Help keep our supervisory documents—like WSPs and SOPs—accurate, up to date, and aligned with regulatory standards. Review regulatory disqualifying events and referrals across our entities to ensure we’re meeting SEC, FINRA, and banking requirements. Conduct regular social media reviews to monitor for quality, compliance, and brand integrity. Partner with a Senior Compliance Officer to support testing and monitoring efforts, organize data and documentation, and summarize findings. Serve as the go-to person for our ACA Compliance Management System, helping team members properly disclose and report Outside Business Activities, brokerage accounts, and private securities transactions. Support regulatory exams and requests by gathering and preparing key data and documentation. Manage and communicate regulatory continuing education requirements, ensuring team members complete assigned courses on time. Look for opportunities to streamline or automate compliance processes and help bring those improvements to life. Take ownership of assigned processes and manage them proactively as you grow in the role. Collaborate with senior members of the Compliance and Legal teams on additional projects and responsibilities. Participate in regular goal-setting and performance check-ins with your manager. Compensation Information: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $62,200 and $70,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, equity grants, and discretionary cash bonus awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
