About the Company Our client is a well-established commercial MEP contractor specializing in large-scale mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. Known for their family-oriented culture, strong employee retention, and commitment to safety, they are looking for a proven Safety Manager to lead company-wide safety operations. Position Overview The Safety Manager will take full ownership of the company’s safety and health programs, driving a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance across all job sites and facilities. This role requires a seasoned construction safety professional who can operate as both a strategic leader and a hands-on expert in the field. Key Responsibilities 1. Culture & Leadership Serve as the visible, company-wide safety leader and champion a strong safety culture. Lead and chair the Company Safety Committee. Manage and promote participation in the Company Safety Rewards Program. Maintain safety credentials (OSHA 500/501, CSP, CHST) and provide expert guidance to senior management. 2. Compliance & Audits Own OSHA compliance across all operations (construction + local facilities). Develop, coordinate, and deliver all safety training programs. Oversee the Hazard Communication Program. Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments. 3. Incident & Case Management Lead incident response, investigations, and reporting. Act as the primary liaison to OSHA, fire departments, rescue teams, and emergency partners. Collaborate with HR on post-incident case management and Transitional/Return-to-Work programs. 4. Work Environment & Schedule Split duties between field inspections, training delivery, and office-based documentation. Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM. Travel to local and regional job sites as needed (no long-distance travel). Qualifications Experience 15+ years of progressive safety experience, must be from commercial construction. Strong background in plumbing and/or sheet metal trades. 2–3 years in a supervisory or leadership role (Foreman, Superintendent, etc.). Required Certifications OSHA 30-Hour Construction OSHA 500 & OSHA 501 (Train-the-Trainer) Certified Aerial Lift Trainer CSP and/or CHST strongly preferred Technical Skills Advanced knowledge of construction-specific OSHA standards. Strong communication, leadership, and training abilities. Proven track record running company-wide safety programs. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary (based on experience + credentials).
