Role Summary The AV Operations Manager (AVOM) is responsible for managing end-to-end Autonomous Vehicle (AV) operations, ensuring high-quality ride support, safety compliance, fleet readiness, and operational excellence across shifts and locations. The role requires strong people leadership, process control, stakeholder coordination, and data-driven decision-making to maintain a scaled AV ecosystem. Operational Management • Lead day-to-day AV operations to ensure 24/7 readiness, safety, and service continuity. • Monitor live operations dashboards, incident queues, and fleet utilization. • Ensure efficient coordination between remote operators, field support, dispatch, and central command. Team Leadership • Manage and mentor teams of Specialists / Operators across multiple shifts. • Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and skills enhancement plans. • Maintain shift discipline, adherence, and productivity KPIs. Quality & Safety • Enforce AV safety protocols, SOPs, escalation paths, and compliance guidelines. • Drive incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and corrective action planning. • Maintain audit readiness with accurate documentation and process adherence. Process Excellence • Identify gaps and optimize processes using Lean/Kaizen methods. • Track SLA adherence and operational KPIs. • Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency and customer experience. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Work with Product, Engineering, Safety, Training, and WFM teams. • Support new city launches, pilot programs, and process transitions. • Provide ground insights for product improvements. Reporting & Analytics • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly operational reports. • Analyze operational metrics and propose data-driven improvements. • Present updates to leadership on performance, risks, and improvement plans. Required Qualifications • 5–10 years of experience in Operations Management, preferably in AV, transportation, logistics, or tech-enabled operations. • Experience managing large teams in a 24/7 shift-based environment. • Strong expertise in SOP governance, quality management, and escalations. • Proficiency in Excel/Sheets, dashboards, and reporting tools. • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Skills • Experience with Autonomous Vehicle or Mobility Operations. • Knowledge of incident handling tools and fleet management platforms. • Exposure to process automation and AI-assisted operations. • Lean Six Sigma certifications preferred.
