Job Title: Civil/Geotechnical Engineer • **Work Location: Atlanta, GA *** Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview Duties/Responsibilities: • Civil/site engineering and design for government buildings, test stands, recreational facilities, roadways, parking lots, laboratory facilities, etc. • Perform boring layout for utility clearance, supervising drill rigs, classifying soils, logging borings • Perform and supervise field exploration, including SPT sampling, rock coring, pile testing • Assist in developing a variety of layouts, drawings, and designs • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Slope Stability Analysis Education/Experience: • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering • 1-3 years’ experience with Geotechnical engineer knowledge • 1-3 years’ experience preparing Geotechnical Engineering reports, including site investigations, soil analysis, and foundation recommendations • Experience and skill in application of CAD software, specifically Civil 3D and associated civil software packages are highly desirable. • At least 1 year of experience working on GDOT projects preferred • Ability and willingness to assist designers, drafters, and other staff members where needed. • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external partners including clients, sub consultants, and utility companies • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable Physical Requirements: • Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments • Ability to carry required instruments and equipment • Ability to lift 50 pounds • The worker is subject to variable climate and environmental conditions including but not limited to extreme cold and heat.
