Senior UI Engineer (Angular) Industry: Enterprise Software / End User Computing Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid – 3 days onsite) or Remote for highly qualified candidates outside the Chicago area Total Compensation: 160,000k About the Opportunity An established enterprise software company is seeking a Senior UI Engineer to join its growing engineering organization. This role is ideal for an experienced frontend developer who enjoys building modern, high-performance user interfaces while collaborating closely with backend engineers and product teams. The majority of your work will focus on developing and enhancing Angular applications, while maintaining select React components as part of an existing platform. You'll have the opportunity to work with modern AI-assisted development tools and contribute to a product used by enterprise customers around the world. What You'll Do • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise web applications using Angular version 22 • Maintain existing React components and gradually modernize the frontend platform. • Build responsive, scalable, and maintainable UI components using HTML, CSS, and TypeScript. • Consume and integrate REST and GraphQL APIs into frontend applications. • Collaborate with backend engineers to understand API design and application architecture. • Participate in code reviews and promote frontend engineering best practices. • Leverage AI development tools such as Claude and Cursor to improve productivity while maintaining engineering quality. Required Qualifications • 5- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience. • Strong expertise developing applications with Angular (current versions preferred). • Experience maintaining or working with React applications. • Advanced knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3. • Experience consuming REST APIs and familiarity with GraphQL endpoints. • Understanding of secure software development and frontend security best practices. • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively within cross-functional teams. Nice to Have • Experience building or integrating backend APIs. • Experience with frontend charting or data visualization libraries. • Familiarity with AI-assisted software development workflows. • Active GitHub profile showcasing personal projects or open-source contributions.
