Full Description

About the Role: Accesstec is seeking a Field Engineer with Project Management chops to oversee and execute hardware refreshes, VoIP phone system upgrades, and other IT projects across the U.S. This is a client-facing role where you’ll be both a technical lead and onsite project manager — ensuring deliverables are met, problems are solved, and projects are completed smoothly. When you're not traveling, you'll assist with business development and internal operations — helping with tasks like organizing project documentation, supporting help desk activities, and contributing to overall team efficiency at your home base. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee end-to-end hardware refresh and VoIP phone refresh projects at client sites. • Coordinate with remote project teams, subcontractors, and client stakeholders. • Travel domestically to project sites on a regular basis (up to 75% travel). • Perform hands-on tasks including IT equipment installation, troubleshooting. • Manage site-level project timelines, resources, and deliverables. • Conduct site assessments, document progress, and ensure adherence to scope. • Be the primary point of contact on-site for clients, ensuring a professional and responsive experience. • Identify potential project risks/issues and proactively resolve them. • Assist with business development tasks during home-base weeks — help desk support, project coordination, and process improvement. What We’re Looking For: • 3+ years of field engineering experience in IT, telecommunications. • Proven experience leading projects (formal Project Manager title not required, but must have real-world project oversight experience). • Solid understanding of VoIP systems, network and computer hardware, and wireless networking fundamentals. • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and shifting between technical and managerial tasks. • Ability to travel frequently within the U.S. • Strong communication skills with a client-first mindset. • Self-starter who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Bonus Points For: • Previous experience with large-scale hardware deployments. • Certifications in IT, networking, or project management (CompTIA, PMP, etc.). • Experience working with subcontractor crews. • Knowledge of healthcare environments (not required, but a plus). Compensation: The salary range for this role is $80,000 – $100,000, depending on experience, skills, and project management capabilities, with additional performance-based bonuses. We’re flexible for applicants who bring a strong mix of technical expertise and leadership qualities. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package and contribute toward your health insurance, giving you the flexibility to choose a plan that best fits your needs. Why You’ll Love This Role: • You won’t be stuck behind a desk — you’ll be out in the field, leading projects, solving problems, and making things happen. • You’ll be the go-to person on-site, trusted by clients and backed by a solid team that keeps things moving behind the scenes. • Every project is different — new sites, new challenges, and new opportunities to flex your technical and leadership skills. • Travel perks — see new cities (we cover travel expenses), all while doing meaningful work. • When you’re home, you’ll help shape how we organize projects, assist with help desk processes, and play a key role in driving business growth. • You’ll be part of a tight-knit, no-BS team that values hard work, a sense of humor, and taking pride in a job well done. What Success Looks Like in 6 Months: • You’ve successfully led multiple hardware refresh and VoIP upgrade projects from kickoff to completion, earning trust from both clients and the internal team. • You’re the go-to onsite lead — anticipating challenges, keeping subcontractors in line, and ensuring deliverables stay on track without needing hand-holding. • You’ve built a solid rhythm with the dispatch and help desk teams, contributing to smoother project coordination and faster issue resolution. • You’ve developed a clear understanding of our processes and have already suggested (and implemented) a few improvements. • You’re managing your travel schedule like a pro while staying productive during home-base weeks, helping with documentation, support tickets, or assisting in organizing upcoming projects. • Clients are asking for you by name because you make projects easy for them.
