Full Description

Product Manager, Agentic Discovery, Design & Validation AccelerOnc Studio Reports to: VP of Product Location: Remote About the Role: You own the full cycle from user insight to validated solution. This role blends deep user research, design leadership, and validation expertise with frontier infrastructure work: building AI agents that autonomously conduct research, generate designs, create prototypes, and test solutions across our multi-company oncology portfolio. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with studio-wide impact. You’ll begin by leading discovery, design, and validation for 2-3 ventures (primarily OncoBrain and ClearOnc) while partnering with our CTO to build agentic infrastructure that benefits the entire portfolio. You work in parallel with our Development PM - your agents identify what to build and validate solutions, their agents build and deploy them. You ensure diverse voices - especially from underrepresented communities - shape what we build, how we design it, and how we validate it works. Growth & Potential We recognize that agentic systems and AI in healthcare are new and rapidly growing fields. Even if you don’t meet 100% of the listed requirements but have a deep passion for ending cancer as a death sentence and a relentless curiosity for leveraging technology to solve complex ethical and clinical problems, we want to hear from you. Please apply! Diversity & Inclusion We are committed to building a diverse team and an inclusive environment. We believe that tackling cancer requires a variety of perspectives, backgrounds, and lived experiences. We particularly encourage applications from individuals belonging to groups traditionally underrepresented in tech and healthcare. Note: While we have a strong internal candidate under consideration, we recognize the critical importance of this role. We are sharing this opportunity with our broader network to ensure a thorough search and to identify talent for future ventures across our portfolio. Key Responsibilities: Discovery, Design & Validation Leadership • Lead the complete cycle for OncoBrain (AI treatment recommendations) and ClearOnc (second opinion platform): research → design → prototype → test → iterate. • Understand all user types: patients navigating diagnoses, oncologists making treatment decisions, care teams coordinating care, administrators managing systems, enterprise buyers evaluating platforms. • Translate insights into design concepts, create prototypes (low-fi to high-fi), run usability tests with real users. • Champion equity throughout: actively recruit participants from safety-net hospitals, test solutions across diverse demographics and care settings, validate designs work for all, not just some. • Iterate based on what you learn, then hand validated designs to the Development PM for implementation. Agentic Discovery, Design & Validation Infrastructure • Partner with CTO to design AI agents that automate the full cycle: • Discovery agents: Conduct interviews, synthesize insights, identify patterns across populations • Design agents: Generate concepts, create prototypes, apply design patterns • Validation agents: Run usability tests, analyze sessions, track UX quality metrics • Collaborate tightly with Development PM: your agents discover needs + design solutions + validate they work → their agents build and deploy them. • Start with pilots in 2-3 companies, establish patterns, scale infrastructure across all portfolio companies. • Define quality standards: What makes agent-generated insights trustworthy? When can agents design? When do we need human designers? What counts as valid testing? • Build reusable frameworks: create once, deploy across the portfolio. User-Centered & Ethics-First Practice • Partner with VP of Product to facilitate explorations of value tensions and user-centered design, serving as a bridge between ethical inquiry and user needs. • Conduct equity audits: Are we hearing from diverse populations? Whose voices are missing? Do our designs work equitably? • Lead participatory design sessions: patients, oncologists, nurses, administrators actively shaping solutions together. • Surface when designs might work well for some users and fail others. • Help establish studio-wide practices for equitable research, inclusive design, and thorough validation. Cross-Portfolio Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing • Share learnings across portfolio: What design patterns work? What validation approaches are effective? What’s transferable across oncology domains? • Enable other teams: Help workstream leads across companies improve their discovery, design, and validation processes. • Document what works and what doesn’t for scaling practices portfolio-wide. • Connect patterns across different contexts (treatment decisions, genomic interpretation, imaging analysis, trial matching, etc.). Strategic Product Direction • Synthesize insights into strategic recommendations that inform roadmaps. • Identify opportunities that span multiple companies. • Translate validated designs into clear requirements for Development PM. • Connect the dots: what patterns appear across the portfolio? Cross-Functional & Clinical Collaboration • Partner with Commercial colleagues to synthesize market feedback and customer requirements, ensuring that real-world business needs are integrated into the product discovery and design process. • Collaborate with Scientists on the clinical validation of products, bridging the gap between user-centered design and the rigorous scientific evidence required for oncology solutions. • Translate customer and clinical insights into actionable product requirements, ensuring the agentic infrastructure (Discovery, Design, and Validation agents) accounts for both commercial viability and clinical safety. • Lead "closed-loop" feedback sessions with Sales and Customer Success teams to validate that the solutions being prototyped and tested solve the most pressing pain points for enterprise buyers and clinical users. Other duties, as assigned. Qualifications: • 5-10+years experience spanning product management, user research, and/or product design with shipped products. • Hands-on experience building with AI agents (including personal projects - we want to see what you’ve built). • Comfortable across the full discovery → design → validation cycle (don’t need to be world-class at all three, but competent and interested). • Can create prototypes (Figma, code, paper - whatever works) and run usability tests. • Technical fluency: comfortable discussing architecture with engineers. • Experience with or commitment to equitable research and design practices. • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and complex systems. Valued experience: • Healthcare or clinical product experience. • Platform or infrastructure PM work. • Participatory design or co-design with diverse communities. • Research and testing with underrepresented or vulnerable populations. • Engineering, design, or HCI background. • Understanding of healthcare disparities and social determinants of health. • Experience with rapid prototyping and iterative design. Who Thrives Here: You’re energized by owning the complete cycle: discovering needs, designing solutions, validating their work - then seeing them built. You move fluidly between user research sessions with patients, design sessions with Figma, usability testing in clinical settings, and technical discussions with the CTO about agent capabilities. You ask “whose voices are we hearing, whose are we missing?” throughout the process - in research recruitment, design reviews, and testing plans. You create space for all voices, especially those typically excluded from product development. You value testing and iteration over assuming you know the answer. You’re comfortable being wrong and learning. You see equity work as integral to good product work, not a separate checkbox. You want to work across many companies, not just one - you see patterns, establish design systems, and amplify impact portfolio-wide. Compensation Base Salary: $135,000 - 150,000 Bonus: Standard annual bonus (target 15-20%), tied to infrastructure adoption, technical roadmap execution, and operationalizing equity. Equity: Commensurate with the role/level (details shared during offer letter stage) Benefits: Competitive benefits package (details shared during interview process) To Apply: Submit the following information: • Resume - Show us your PM work, technical background, anything you’ve built with AI • Note (conversational, not formal) addressing: • What’s the most complex technical product problem you’ve solved? • Show us something you built with AI agents (GitHub, demo, screenshots - anything) • Tell us about identifying bias or an ethical issue in product work. What did you do? • Why build agentic development infrastructure for cancer care? • Optional: Links to anything showing how you think (writing, projects, talks)
