Position Summary Our Milwaukee manufacturing client is seeking an experienced Sr. Human Resources & Safety Manager to lead and direct all HR and workplace safety functions. This role is responsible for developing and executing people and safety strategies that support business objectives, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a positive, high-performing workplace culture. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong HR expertise in the manufacturing industry, safety knowledge, and the ability to handle complex and sensitive matters with discretion. This position has three direct reports and reports to the COO in this non-unionized company of under 100 employees total on 1st and 2nd shifts. This is a full-time, direct hire position with a competitive compensation and benefit package. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Partner with the leadership team to execute the organization’s HR and talent strategy, including recruiting, retention, succession planning, and workforce development. • Lead and manage full-cycle talent acquisition for managerial, exempt, and professional roles. • Provide guidance to leadership and employees on complex HR matters, including employee relations, investigations, disciplinary actions, terminations, and reasonable accommodations. • Analyze compensation and benefits trends and recommend competitive pay and incentive programs. • Design and implement learning and development programs to support employee growth and internal advancement. • Oversee performance review processes and provide salary recommendations to executive leadership. • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices. • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee and organizational matters. • Develop initiatives to promote employee engagement, morale, and retention. • Collaborate with management to develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures. • Ensure OSHA compliance, including required recordkeeping and reporting. • Identify and address opportunities to reduce workplace injuries, accidents, and health risks. • Review accident and incident reports and recommend corrective actions. • Evaluate and improve safety training programs. • Oversee workplace security systems, access control, and camera systems. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field. • 3+ years of HR management experience or 10+ years of progressive HR experience with at least some experience in the manufacturing industry. • 3+ years of hands-on safety and OSHA compliance experience. • Prior payroll processing experience required. • Strong working knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and OSHA regulations. • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with professionalism. • Ability to take initiative, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a team environment. • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Demonstrated leadership and employee relations expertise.
