Supervise EMS staff and operations, ensure compliance with medical and safety standards, respond to emergencies, and assist with training and community relations.
Must have EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic certification with leadership experience in EMS and enrollment in paramedic and CCT courses within specified timeframes.
JOB SUMMARY: Provide immediate supervision of employees, stations, units and spare units in assigned areas to ensure quality patient care and transportation of the sick and injured in accordance with local, state, national and Acadian Ambulance standards of practice. The individual will work as an Operations Supervisor on 4850 in Humble and assist the operations team in management of the region. Duties and responsibilities include: • Staffs a designated sprint truck while providing supervision, training, scheduling, and evaluation of employees. • Staffs openings and extra crews as needed. • Maintains 24 hour on call status. • Coaches employees while providing professional and personal guidance aimed at optimizing employee performance and morale. • Responds to accidents, disasters or interfacility transports as needed. • Oversees completion of all daily logs; ensuring compliance with medical reporting requirements. • Conducts internal medical audits and obtains signatures as requested. • Monitors performance issues including AMPS, refusals, on-scene times, AllSafe reports, and station maintenance. • Monitors usage and storage of controlled substances. • Communicates policy changes, post memos, and distribute information as needed. • Assists with marketing efforts. Visits hospitals and other medical facilities to promote positive community and business relations. • Investigates customer-call inquiries related to customer service and operational and clinical performances. • Makes independent decisions concerning the safety of EMS employees and acts decisively when necessary to ensure patient care, public safety, and employee safety are not compromised. • Participates in goal setting and strategic planning. • Participates in disaster drills, quarterly staff meetings, community meetings. • Assists in employee training as needed. • Special projects or other assignments/duties as deemed necessary by the Operations Manager/VP. Qualifications: • Current or previous leadership experience within Acadian with strong organizational skills preferred • EMT, AEMT or Paramedic level certification required • Must be enrolled in a paramedic program within 6 months of being promoted • Must be enrolled in a CCT course 1 year after being a paramedic All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
