Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technology projects in the education domain, spanning publishing, higher education, and K-12. The ideal candidate has a strong background in software development or systems engineering, combined with excellent project management skills. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals. Key Responsibilities • Lead end-to-end project management of technical initiatives, from requirements gathering to deployment. • Collaborate with Product Managers/Owners, Engineers, and QA to define project scope, deliverables, and timelines. • Create and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and risk management logs. • Facilitate sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies with an eye to tracking velocity, burndown, and project efficiency • Track and report on project status, key milestones, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders, specially risks around scalability, integration, and security. • Ensure technical feasibility of requirements and proactively manage trade-offs between scope, time, and resources. • Drive cross-functional communication to resolve blockers and align priorities. • Implement best practices in project governance, documentation, and reporting. • Partner with DevOps and engineering teams to manage deployments and ensure smooth release processes. • Support continuous improvement by analyzing project outcomes and applying lessons learned. • Understand and contribute to architecture diagrams and design discussions Qualifications •7–8 years of experience in project or program management, with at least 3+ years managing technical/software development projects. • Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and/or Kanban methodologies. • Hands-on experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Asana, Trello, MS Project). • Solid understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), cloud technologies, APIs, and system integrations. • Knowledge of core front end, back end and API development frameworks • Strong knowledge of cloud-based environments (AWS/Azure/others) with dev-ops (CI-CD pipelines) and container-based technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker) • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills. • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience). • Data/AI/ML frameworks, PMP, CSM, or other project management certifications is a plus. • Success Metrics • On-time and on-budget delivery of technical projects. • Clear, transparent, and proactive communication with stakeholders. • Effective risk identification and mitigation. • Improved velocity and efficiency of engineering/project teams. • High satisfaction scores from internal and external stakeholders.
