Registered Nurse (RN) — Non-Medical Home Care Abundant Life Home Care Agency, LLC Location: North Carolina Job Type: Part Time Job Description Overview: Abundant Life Home Care Agency, LLC is actively pursuing licensure as a non-medical home care agency through the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHSR), Division of Health Service Regulation (DHSR). Until full licensure is granted, the Registered Nurse (RN) role is strictly limited to non-clinical and administrative responsibilities, consistent with applicable NC DHSR regulations and scope of non-medical home care. Key Compliance Points • Non-Medical Scope Only: This position strictly adheres to the non-medical home care definition under NC Administrative Code 10A NCAC 13P .0200 et seq., delivering personal care, companionship, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) only. • No Clinical Nursing Prior to Licensure: Clinical nursing services—including medication administration, wound care, clinical assessments, and aide supervision—are prohibited until the agency obtains full licensure approvalfrom NC DHSR. • Contingent Employment: Employment and any care provision are strictly contingent upon Abundant Life Home Care Agency, LLC receiving full licensure approval from NC DHSR. • HIPAA & Confidentiality Compliance: All client information will be managed in compliance with HIPAA and other applicable federal privacy laws. Responsibilities (Pre-Licensure) • Conduct non-clinical client assessments to identify personal care and support needs within the scope of non-medical home care services. • Assist in the development of individualized care plans focused on supporting client independence and safe performance of activities of daily living. • Provide education and guidance to clients and families on non-medical health maintenance, safety, and wellness strategies. • Monitor client well-being and promptly report any concerns to designated supervisory staff or healthcare providers as appropriate. • Collaborate with healthcare providers only within the scope authorized for non-medical home care. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care activities and client status in accordance with agency policy and NC DHSR regulations. • Support agency readiness for licensure by assisting with regulatory compliance, training, and quality assurance activities. Additional RN Duties Upon Licensure Approval Upon full licensure approval by NC DHSR, the RN role will expand to include: • Conducting initial and ongoing clinical nursing assessments as permitted by NC DHSR regulations and agency scope. • Developing and implementing personalized care plans that may include nursing services allowed within the agency’s licensure. • Providing education and support related to medication management, symptom monitoring, and basic wound care, consistent with non-medical home care parameters. • Collaborating directly with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate client care. • Monitoring client clinical status and documenting findings according to agency and regulatory requirements. • Supervising, training, and supporting non-licensed home care aides in accordance with NC DHSR licensure rules. • Ensuring continuous compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations governing licensed home care services. Important Licensing Notice • All clinical nursing duties and care provision are strictly prohibited until the agency obtains full licensure approval from NC DHSR. • Until licensure is granted, the RN’s role remains administrative and non-clinical as outlined above. • The agency currently provides only non-medical personal care and companionship services as defined by NC DHSR. Qualifications • Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina. • Knowledge of NC DHSR licensing rules for non-medical home care agencies is preferred. • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to perform administrative tasks related to client support and agency compliance. • Commitment to client dignity, independence, and confidentiality.
