Design and execute software projects critical to Abnormal’s success, collaborating with engineers through all phases from conception to operation. Provide mentorship to junior team members and collaborate with various teams to implement customer requests.
Candidates must have a BS degree in a related field and 3+ years of experience in fullstack software development. Proficiency in React, Redux, and JavaScript/Typescript is required, along with intermediate skills in Python or Go.
About the Role Abnormal Security is looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer to join the Premium Email Products (PEP) team. The PEP team builds & operates Abnormal’s AI Security Mailbox and Search & Respond products. Our objective is to automate the SOC team’s workflows by providing them with reliable, intuitive, and delightful products that give them time back in their day. This is a full stack team which is responsible for all the layers - stretching from the database layer and bubbling all the way up to the UI. The ideal candidate will have worked across the stack and has in depth knowledge about frontend and backend development. What you will do Design and execute software projects which are critical to Abnormal’s success with a group of engineers, through conception, design, implementation, launch & operation. Provide guidance and mentorship for junior members of the team Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, Go-ToMarket teams in order to implement, verify and iterate on the issues & requests coming from our customers Raise the bar of excellence in engineering, actively contributing to knowledge sharing within the team and participating in professional development activities. Hit the ground running contributing to the teams work in the first two weeks Must Haves BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems or other related engineering field 3+ years of industry experience designing & building fullstack software applications Experience with our stack: Expert in React, Redux, JS/Typescript Intermediate+ Python and/or Go skills Experience building features & components from scratch and operating them, balancing feature development work with operational tasks Open to following pre-established guidelines, coding practices and conventions Experience working with distributed teams, proficient in asynchronous and written communication You’re growth driven & looking to increase impact & responsibility over time You’re able to leverage AI Developer tools such as Copilot or Cursor in your daily workflow Nice to Have Familiarity with our stack: AWS, K8s, Django, Postgres/MySQL, Prometheus Familiarity with AWS services and deployment practices.
