This Position reports to: Sales Manager We are seeking a Critical Power Senior Solutions Architect to design, optimize, and implement high-availability electrical infrastructure solutions for mission-critical data centers. This role bridges engineering expertise, solution architecture, and client engagement, ensuring that electrical systems meet stringent requirements for reliability, efficiency, and scalability and promoting ABB solutions and technology. The solutions architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams— agile/product development, applications, commercial, project management, and client design, engineering and procurement teams—to deliver world-class data center power solutions. This position will need to be located near Dallas, TX (priority) or Austin, TX (secondary) to travel and support customers up to 50% of the time (#LI-Hybrid). Responsibilities • Leading the design and development of critical power systems for data centers and other mission critical applications, including medium- and low-voltage distribution, medium and low voltage UPS systems, STSs, PDUs, switchgear, and renewable/backup integration. • Implementing proactive promotional activities, including technical presentations, demonstrations, seminars, educational material, and technical development of projects and solutions for the customer target group. • Creating plans for target audience visits and conducting regular status reviews, including analyzing and deriving the insights and output of the visits. • Establishing and maintaining effective long-term relationships with target group customers to understand their needs and to ensure they are well-informed of the ABB product, systems, services offering, features, and benefits. • Ensuring efficient marketing activities and strong value proposition to customers by using effective promotional techniques. Requirements • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field. • 10+ years of experience in data center electrical design, solution architecture, or mission-critical infrastructure. • Experience with data center designs and electrical topologies (Uptime Institute or similar). • Deep knowledge of electrical power distribution, UPS systems, diesel/gas generators, switchgear, PDUs, ATS/STS, and grounding/bonding. • Familiarity with energy storage systems (lithium-ion batteries, flywheels) and renewable integration. • Strong understanding of reliability engineering (MTBF, MTTR, availability calculations). • Knowledge of sustainability practices, including PUE optimization and renewable integration. • Strong communication and presentation skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. • Leadership abilities to drive collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on reliability, efficiency, and innovation. • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. • Candidates must have work authorization to work for ABB in the US.
