High school diploma or GED preferred, experience with disabilities, ability to document services, pass background checks, and work flexible hours.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR: COMMUNITY HABILITATION - The days and hours vary, most shift are from 3:30pm- 7:30pm - Direct Support Staff Needed: AAPI Services is a nonprofit agency located on SI offering community habilitation. We invite you to join our team and be part of this exciting opportunity to mentor young men as they adapt to the challenges of daily living. We have several part-time openings for Community Habilitation Specialists working out of the clients' homes. Retirees or veterans encouraged to apply. All shifts available Responsibilities: • Assist people with developmental disabilities with skill development in various independent living goals • Assist with adaptive behaviors, socialization and recreation at home and in the community • Teach daily learning skills to be used in the community and at home • Provide progress reports to the agency regarding the individuals behaviors, task and achievable goal • Provide input and follow agency and OPWDD policies • Must be able to document services provided so reading and writing skills are a must • Follow all protocols, policies and procedures regarding safety and risk management • Hourly Position - so you must be able to work some evenings or possibly weekends • Must past OPWDD background check and SCR clearance • Random drug testing Qualifications • High School Diploma/GED preferred • Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply • Experienced working with people with various types of disabilities preferred Job Type: Part-time Pay: $17.00 - $17.50 per hour Benefits: • Flexible schedule • Referral program Experience: • Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred) Work Location: In person
