In this role, you will drive technical initiatives across various teams and help us build standalone web applications, in-app web applications within our gaming apps, and integrations with service providers. ✅ Your Objectives -From MVPs to Production: Drive technical initiatives across various teams to ensure the delivery of MVPs for online poker games and applications that help recreational players improve their skills. Lead the transition from MVP to production, ensuring scalability and reliability for a global audience. -Game Development: Architecting and implementing highly-available and performant games using Node.js. -Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with frontend engineers, UX/UI designers, AI engineers, and product managers to deliver end-to-end features. -Code Quality: Enforce clean, maintainable code with testing and code reviews. -Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve bottlenecks to optimize applications to meet the demands of B2C scenarios. 👀 What You Bring to the Table -Experience: 7+ years in backend development with 3+ years in a senior/lead role -Technical Skills: -Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript and JavaScript -Experience with NestJS and Golang would be a plus -Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, gRPC, and Web Sockets. -Experience with backend testing frameworks like Jest. -Proficiency in both relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB). -High load and concurrency: Experience in creating, modifying, debugging scalable backend systems in high load environments. -Cloud Technologies: Experience in working with cloud platforms is a plus, e.g. AWS and Cloudflare, including the ability to design, deploy, and maintain robust cloud-based applications. -Distributed Systems using Microservices: Expertise in crafting resilient, scalable, and maintainable software architectures, leveraging event-driven architectures and microservices best practices. Skilled in using observability tools to monitor and optimise performance. -DevOps and CI/CD: Hands-on experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions), preferably proficiency with containerisation tools like Docker and Kubernetes. -Security: solid understanding of the ways a Node.js backend can be exposed to an attack. Experience with implementing security best practices. 🥇 Preferred Personal Qualifications Adaptability: Comfortable working in fast-paced startup and R&D environments.
