A-Players is helping RallyBoard hire their next Software Engineer to accelerate product development and move beyond MVP into early adopter scale. RallyBoard is entering a growth phase and needs to increase engineering velocity, reduce tech debt, and ship features faster. This hire will work side-by-side with the founders and the first engineer to shape both the product and engineering culture. About RallyBoard RallyBoard is a community technology startup helping professional associations fight isolation and accelerate upskilling by connecting members into structured peer groups. The founding team has deep experience building and scaling startups to $10M+ ARR, 100+ employees, and 200k+ users, with systems handling 8M+ requests/day. Team size: 5 full-time Locations: US (NY, CA) Stage: Post-MVP, early adopter phase Funding: freshly baked (Seed) What you’ll be doing Full-stack development Scaling our infrastructure, tools, and codebase for the next stage of growth Working across disciplines — engineering, product, and even a bit of strategy (80% tactical / 20% strategic) Collaborating directly with founders and our first engineer Listen to CTO telling us more! What RallyBoard is looking for Must-have 2-3+ years of professional software engineering experience At least 1 year in a startup or fast-paced product environment Strong across the stack: backend logic, APIs, and UI Comfortable working independently with minimal process Clear written English and strong async communication habits Ability to bring structure into ambiguous environments Technical baseline Must-Haves: Expert in JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, web development Nice-to-Haves: NextJS, React, Supabase/PostgreSQL, AI tools, distributed systems How RallyBoard works Remote-first, outcome-driven culture No hour tracking ~1 hour of meetings per week Strong preference for async communication Clear ownership, fast iteration, and low bureaucracy What success looks like First 30 days Consistent daily async standups Thoughtful participation in sprint planning Multiple merges and deployments per week Meeting sprint commitments reliably Growth path IC growth every 1–2 years (SWE → Senior → Staff → Principal) Benefits Equity Unlimited PTO Health Insurance Location: US based - fully remote Hiring process Behavioural screening with Talent Partner (30-40 min) Live coding session with CTO (1 hour) Technical interview with a founding engineer (45 min) Conversation with co-founders (45 min) Offer Decision is typically made within a few business days after the final stage.
