Role Overview: As a Remote Patient Collections Representative, you will play a crucial role in managing patient accounts by reviewing outstanding balances and effectively communicating with patients to facilitate timely payments. This position is essential in maintaining the financial health of healthcare providers while delivering compassionate and professional service. What You'll Do: - You will review and analyze open patient balances to determine appropriate collection actions. - You will contact patients via phone and email to discuss outstanding payments and offer payment solutions. - You will document all patient interactions accurately in the system to ensure up-to-date records. - You will collaborate with healthcare providers and billing departments to resolve billing discrepancies. - You will educate patients on their financial responsibilities and available payment options. - You will follow up on payment arrangements and escalate unresolved accounts as necessary. - You will maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and company policies during all collection activities. What You Bring: - You bring at least 2 years of experience in patient collections or a related customer service role. - You have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a patient and empathetic approach. - You are proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and collections software. - You have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - You are comfortable working independently in a remote environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working in a healthcare or medical billing environment. - Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards. - Familiarity with payment processing systems and insurance billing. - Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish, to assist a diverse patient population.
