Role Overview: As a Remote Patient Collections Representative, you will play a crucial role in managing patient accounts by reviewing outstanding balances and effectively communicating with patients to facilitate timely payments. This position is designed for individuals who are detail-oriented, empathetic, and skilled in customer service, ensuring a positive experience for patients while supporting the financial health of healthcare providers. What You'll Do: - You will review and analyze open patient balances to identify accounts requiring follow-up. - You will contact patients via phone and email to discuss outstanding payments and arrange payment plans. - You will provide clear and compassionate communication to address patient questions and concerns. - You will document all patient interactions accurately in the system to maintain up-to-date records. - You will collaborate with healthcare providers and internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies. - You will adhere to all regulatory and compliance guidelines related to patient information and collections. - You will meet or exceed monthly collection targets and performance metrics. - You will participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry best practices and company policies. What You Bring: - Minimum of 2 years experience in patient collections, customer service, or a related field. - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to handle sensitive conversations professionally. - Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and collections software. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work independently in a remote setting while managing time effectively. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working in a healthcare or medical billing environment. - Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards. - Familiarity with payment processing systems and insurance billing. - Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish, to assist a diverse patient population.
