Role Overview: As a Remote Patient Collections Representative, you will play a crucial role in managing patient accounts by reviewing outstanding balances and facilitating payment collections. This position is designed for individuals who are detail-oriented, empathetic, and skilled in communication, ensuring a positive experience for patients while supporting the financial health of healthcare providers. What You'll Do: - You will review open patient balances and identify accounts requiring follow-up. - You will contact patients via phone and email to discuss outstanding payments and arrange payment plans. - You will verify patient information and update account records accurately. - You will resolve billing inquiries and address patient concerns with professionalism and empathy. - You will collaborate with healthcare providers and billing departments to ensure accurate account status. - You will document all patient interactions and payment arrangements in the system. - You will meet or exceed monthly collection targets and performance metrics. - You will maintain compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations. What You Bring: - Minimum of 2 years experience in patient collections, medical billing, or a related field. - Strong communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive conversations tactfully. - Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and billing software. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work independently in a remote setting while managing time effectively. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working remotely in a healthcare or collections role. - Knowledge of insurance processes and medical terminology. - Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and patient privacy regulations. - Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish.
