Role Overview: As a Remote Patient Collections Representative, you will play a crucial role in managing patient accounts by reviewing outstanding balances and facilitating payment collections. This position is designed for individuals who are detail-oriented, empathetic, and skilled in communication, ensuring a positive experience for patients while supporting the financial health of healthcare providers. What You'll Do: - You will review open patient balances and identify accounts requiring follow-up. - You will contact patients via phone and email to discuss outstanding payments and arrange payment plans. - You will verify patient information and update account records accurately. - You will resolve billing inquiries and provide clear explanations of charges. - You will collaborate with healthcare providers and billing departments to address complex account issues. - You will maintain compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements. - You will document all patient interactions and payment arrangements in the system. - You will contribute to improving collection processes and patient communication strategies. What You Bring: - Minimum of 2 years experience in patient collections or medical billing. - Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures and insurance processes. - Excellent communication and negotiation skills. - Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and billing software. - Ability to work independently in a remote setting with strong time management. - High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical billing is a plus. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working remotely in a healthcare environment. - Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and patient privacy regulations. - Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish. - Prior experience with A-Line Staffing Solutions or similar healthcare staffing agencies.
