Role Overview: As a Remote Patient Collections Representative, you will play a crucial role in managing patient accounts by reviewing outstanding balances and facilitating payment collections. This position is designed for individuals who are detail-oriented, empathetic, and skilled in communication, helping to ensure patients understand their financial responsibilities while maintaining a positive experience. What You'll Do: - You will review open patient balances and identify accounts requiring follow-up. - You will contact patients via phone and email to discuss outstanding payments and arrange payment plans. - You will verify patient information and update account records accurately. - You will collaborate with healthcare providers and billing departments to resolve discrepancies. - You will maintain detailed documentation of all patient interactions and payment arrangements. - You will adhere to all regulatory and compliance guidelines related to patient privacy and collections. - You will provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient concerns with empathy and professionalism. - You will meet or exceed monthly collection targets and contribute to team goals. What You Bring: - Minimum of 2 years experience in patient collections, medical billing, or a related field. - Strong knowledge of healthcare billing processes and insurance terminology. - Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a patient-centered approach. - Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and collections software. - Ability to work independently in a remote setting while managing time effectively. - High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical billing is a plus. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working remotely in a healthcare or collections role. - Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance standards. - Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish. - Prior experience with CRM or patient management software.
