Role Overview: As a Remote Patient Collections Representative, you will play a crucial role in managing patient accounts by reviewing outstanding balances and effectively communicating with patients to facilitate timely payments. This position is essential in maintaining the financial health of healthcare providers while delivering compassionate and professional service. What You'll Do: - You will review and analyze open patient balances to identify accounts requiring follow-up. - You will contact patients via phone and email to discuss outstanding payments and arrange payment plans. - You will document all patient interactions accurately in the system to ensure up-to-date records. - You will collaborate with healthcare providers and billing departments to resolve billing discrepancies. - You will provide excellent customer service by addressing patient questions and concerns with empathy and professionalism. - You will adhere to all regulatory and compliance guidelines related to patient information and collections. - You will meet or exceed monthly collection targets and contribute to team goals. What You Bring: - Minimum of 2 years of experience in patient collections, medical billing, or a related field. - Strong communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive conversations professionally. - Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and collections software. - Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills. - Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining productivity. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working remotely, especially in a healthcare or collections role. - Knowledge of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. - Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish. - Familiarity with payment processing systems and insurance billing.
