Position Summary The Sr. Director / Vice President of International Sales is a critical leadership role responsible for driving 908 Devices' global growth outside the United States, with oversight of sales efforts across EMEA, LATAM, and APAC. The position reflects the strategic importance of international expansion and the company's commitment to scaling globally. Based in Europe and reporting to the VP of Sales, with a dotted line to the CEO, this role will manage and mentor regional leaders across EMEA, LATAM, and APAC, ensuring alignment of global go-to-market strategies while adapting execution to regional customer needs. The Sr. Director / VP will be central in strengthening partnerships with Intergovernmental Organizations (including NATO, UNODC, OPCW, and others expanding distribution networks, and accelerating adoption of handheld detectionsolutions in frontline safety and security markets - including defense, law enforcement, and fire/hazmat. Performance will be measured by international revenue growth, channel performance, partner success, and penetration of new accounts and regions. This role offers the opportunity to lead 908 Devices' international growth at a pivotal time in the company's evolution. As a NASDAQ-listed company with ambitious global expansion goals, the Sr. Director / VP of International Sales will play a key role in shaping market penetration, partner networks, and strategic alliances worldwide. Key Responsibilities • Global Growth Leadership: Develop and execute the international sales strategy across EMEA, LATAM, and APAC, aligning regional efforts to global objectives while adapting to local market requirements. • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and hold accountable regional leaders in EMEA, LATAM, and APAC; ensure resource alignment and collaborative execution across diverse geographies. • Sales Discipline: By serving as both a coach and player, lead by example in complex sales cycles, engaging directly with strategic opportunities, negotiating with senior decision-makers, and enabling regional teams to execute with excellence. • Revenue Delivery: Drive international sales performance to meet quarterly and annual booking targets; ensure pipeline health and forecasting accuracy across all regions. • Insight-Driven Execution: Track and act on trend data from customer interactions, competitive developments, and partner activity, using insights to refine strategy and execution. • CRM & Data Utilization: Drive full adoption of Salesforce and leverage AI-enabled tools to enhance forecasting accuracy, analyze market trends, and improve sales productivity. • Forecasting & Reporting: Own international revenue objectives by ensuring accurate forecasting, pipeline transparency, and reporting of sales performance and trends to executive leadership. • Channel Partner Development: Expand, evaluate, and strengthen global distribution and channel partner networks to accelerate growth and adoption of 908 Devices' solutions. • Channel Alignment: Collaborate closely with the Director, Global Channel Strategy & Enablement to ensure consistency of partner programs, enablement tools, and global go-to-market execution. • Strategic Customer Engagement: Cultivate senior-level relationships with allied defense organizations, government ministries, and frontline agencies; present 908 Devices' solutions to address critical capability gaps. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, applications, marketing, and training teams to enable partners, support large development opportunities (LDOs), and ensure customer success globally. • Strategic Reporting: Provide regular business reviews and market insights to executive leadership, informing corporate strategy and international growth planning. • Revenue Ownership & Financial Discipline: Ensure delivery of international revenue objectives by managing pipeline, bookings, and profitability, with attention to pricing strategy, margin protection, and P&L impact. • Governance & Compliance: Uphold corporate governance standards by submitting accurate forecasts, participating in QBRs, and ensuring all sales activities are documented in CRM and compliant with company policies and NASDAQ-listed company expectations. Skills & Qualifications • Domain Knowledge: Strong background in CBRNE detection, molecular spectroscopy, or related advanced detection technologies. • Channel & Market Expertise: Proven ability to build, manage, and expand global distribution networks; deep understanding of international government procurement and funding pathways. • Strategic Acumen: Ability to balance tactical quarterly execution with long-term market-building initiatives; experience engaging with NATO and allied defense/security organizations strongly preferred. • Communication: Exceptional executive presence, presentation, and negotiation skills; ability to influence at the highest levels of government and partner organizations. • Cultural Competence: Skilled at navigating diverse cultural environments and business practices across EMEA, LATAM, and APAC. Multilingual with proficiency in English. • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of sales P&L drivers, including pricing, discounting, gross margin, and multi-year contract structures. • Governance Discipline: Demonstrated ability to operate within governance frameworks, meeting reporting deadlines, ensuring CRM accuracy, and aligning with public-company compliance standards. • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively (60%+), across international markets as required. Education & Experience • Experience: 10+ years of progressive international sales leadership experience, preferably within the defense, safety, security, or chemical detection industries, delivering and exceeding revenue targets. • Leadership: Demonstrated success leading diverse international teams, managing through regional leaders, and driving accountability across distributed geographies. • Education: Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
