Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller – SEC & Technical Accounting Focus 8020 Consulting is seeking a seasoned Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller with strong SEC reporting and technical accounting experience to join our dynamic finance team. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in complex, fast-paced environments and want to leverage their expertise in US GAAP, SEC reporting, and technical accounting guidance. What You’ll Do: Lead the preparation and review of SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, S-1, etc.) and other regulatory reporting. Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, including ASC 606, ASC 718, business combinations, and other US GAAP matters. Partner with external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate completion of audits and related deliverables. Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals. Drive process improvements and implement best practices to streamline month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance. Ideal candidates also have: CPA preferred with 5+ years of public company accounting experience, including SEC reporting. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting standards. Hands-on experience with ERP systems; Sage Intacct experience a plus. Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
