Currently, we manage transportation for over 50 school districts across cities including Houston, Indianapolis, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Phoenix, simplifying operations and expanding services for families. Every school day, 4MATIV manages outsourced vendors and operates a contact center supporting more than 22,000 student trips across over 1,000 routes for schools across the country. Our team is committed to: Working shoulder-to-shoulder with our clients as a mission-aligned and trusted partner Building user-centered products to create lasting impact for districts and students Valuing diversity of perspectives and experiences Care for every detail and outcome Highest standards of service and safety Constant learning and improvement POSITION OVERVIEW The Routing Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day execution of routing tasks, ensuring that routes are accurately created, adjusted, and maintained to support efficient transportation operations. This position plays a critical hands-on role in implementing routing strategies and requires strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to coordinate effectively across teams. The ideal candidate is highly organized, process-driven, analytical, and proactive, with a drive for creative optimization, the ability to troubleshoot routing issues, and support internal teams with timely routing solutions. LOCATION Houston, TX Hybrid: Will require 2-3 days per week on location at customer district RESPONSIBILITIES Route Execution & Maintenance Create, modify, and maintain routes in routing software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with school policies and transportation guidelines. Implement routing updates and change requests based on operational needs. Ensure all route assignments are properly documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders. Data Management & Accuracy Identify and resolve data quality issues related to student assignments, stop locations, and transportation parameters. Maintain an organized system of routing records for tracking historical changes and audit purposes. Collaboration & Operational Support Work closely with Routing Analysts to support the optimization and strategic planning of transportation routes. Coordinate with school Account Managers to execute routing changes aligned with partner school needs. Provide real-time routing support to resolve operational issues affecting service efficiency. Compliance & Reporting Ensure routes comply with school district policies, transportation regulations, and service-level agreements. Track and report on routing changes, efficiencies, and issues to support continuous improvement. Monitor routing KPIs, flagging inefficiencies and escalating issues when needed. Education and Experience: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation, geography, or a related field preferred. 1-3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, routing, or operations support. Technical Skills: Experience with school routing software (e.g., Traversa, EZ Routing, or similar platforms) is a plus. Strong technical skills, including experience with data management and spreadsheet tools (Excel, Google Sheets, etc.). Effective communication: Exhibits strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage diverse stakeholders clearly and professionally.
