This internship at 42West/Fandoms & Franchises offers a comprehensive learning opportunity for students eager to explore the world of communications and PR across multiple dynamic industries. As a Public Relations & Communications Intern, you will have the chance to learn directly from experienced PR professionals while contributing to real projects for clients in Entertainment Content, Interactive Gaming, Consumer Technology, publishing, comics, video games, and a range of genre-based media including anime, horror, and family-friendly entertainment. By supporting projects that span all F&F teams, you will build foundational skills applicable to PR roles throughout the entertainment, media, gaming, and tech sectors. Educational Purpose This internship is designed to provide practical learning experiences that complement your academic studies. You will gain exposure to PR tools, workflows, and strategic thinking used by industry professionals. Note: This is an unpaid internship available only to students who can provide documentation confirming they will receive U.S.–based school credit. What You’ll Learn & Contribute To Interns will receive training, guidance, and hands-on practice with essential public relations responsibilities, including: • Competitor and client research: Learn how to analyze industry landscapes and identify key insights. • Media list development: Gain experience building targeted media lists using professional PR databases. • Drafting press materials: Practice writing media alerts, press releases, and other PR communications with feedback from the team. • Press tracking: Learn how to monitor media coverage and track campaign outcomes. • Coverage reporting: Assist with assembling press recap reports to evaluate client visibility. • Meltwater training: Receive introductory training in Meltwater, a leading PR monitoring and analytics platform. • Schedule & Work Environment • Internship dates and hours are flexible based on your academic schedule. • This role is primarily remote, though local interns may be invited into the Los Angeles office once or twice for additional learning experiences. • You will collaborate closely with team members who will provide mentorship, feedback, and professional development support.
