The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Senior Research Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: • Lead the design and implementation of new or modified process components or equipment • Identify or develop new polymer processing technologies for a variety of products including nonwoven materials • Collaborate across 3M to ensure a successful scale-up from laboratory to manufacturing • Communicate and document research results to team members, business partners, and technology stakeholders Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution. • Two (2) years of industrial experience in a private, public, government or military environment Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related discipline from an accredited institution • Five (5) years of experience with CAD software and equipment component /system design in a private, public, government or military environment • Experience with polymer processing equipment • Creative and collaborative mindset • Strong written and verbal communication skills Work location: • 3M Center, Maplewood MN Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international Relocation Assistance: May be authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status). Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $122,292 - $149,468, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
