This position includes hiring, scheduling, staff training and development, coordination with third-party courier vendors, and vehicle maintenance. Additionally, this role reviews and provides data regarding stat and routine pickups and projections of courier work and costs, plans, implements, and reviews courier routes and schedules, and performs expected laboratory courier duties as necessary. In addition, this position ensures adherence of staff to compliance plans and regulations of applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Ensures outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all team members. Coordinates with third-party courier vendors and oversees vehicle maintenance. Hires, trains, and schedules staff to ensure efficient operations. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and accrediting bodies. Plans, implements, and reviews courier routes and schedules. Reviews and provides data on pickups, projections, and costs. Oversees functionality and service of electronic tracking systems. Provides prompt resolution to customer-service issues. Proactively leverages tools and technology to mitigate liability and risk Manages daily operations of courier and mailroom services, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. Utilizes feedback to create a productive work environment. Develops and implements staff training programs. Maintains outstanding customer service and respectful relationships with team members. Monitors and maintains adequate levels of supplies and equipment. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team and manage staff. [Required] • Skills and aptitudes related to operating motorized vehicles safely. [Required] • Ability to maintain schedule under time constraints. [Required] • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate multiple courier routes. [Required] • Good oral and written communication skills including relationship building skills and customer service skills. Ability to comprehend, measure, reason, match and problem solve. [Required] • Ability to learn and apply computer-related applications and programs, including using electronic keyboards and other peripheral devices. [Required] • Ability to perform and use cost analysis information to establish optimal route projections. [Required] • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment, able to budget team and his/her time and activities as need to accomplish the tasks at hand to meet daily deadlines [Required] • Ability to exercise good judgment and use critical thinking skills and problem-solving [Required] • techniques to optimize and improve department productivity, cost containment and staff management options. [Required] • Mature judgment and the ability to handle confidential information within Advent Health guidelines and applicable regulations. [Required] • Ability to handle infectious biological specimens, caustics, toxic chemicals and/or irritants appropriately and safely.
