Job Description The Director of U.S. Policy and Government Relations will be responsible for advocacy on federal policy priorities before the U.S. House of Representatives, with a focus on Democratic members. This position is part of a team working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and building relationships across important constituencies. Primary responsibilities: Manage and maintain strong and effective relationships with legislators, congressional staff and external partners. Leverage experience and relationships with Congressional Leadership and key Committees to promote policy priorities. Work cross-functionally with colleagues to move legislative priorities forward, with a focus on strategic engagement, ongoing improvement, and new ways of engaging with stakeholders. Develop an understanding of our Company's mission, product pipeline, and therapeutic areas. Support internal communication and employee education related to government relations and advocacy. Manage external consultants and represent our Company through coalitions and other organizations. Qualifications: Bachelor degree. Minimum 10 years of experience working in U.S. public policy or advocacy, preferably with a health care focus. Strong knowledge of congressional process, with private sector and Capitol Hill experience preferred. Strong knowledge of U.S. healthcare public policy processes including understanding the roles and influence of various stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to identify strategic priorities, work within a matrix organization to achieve policy goals. Experience managing consultants. Ability to work collaboratively. Excellent written and oral communication skills. The salary range for this role is $187,000.00 - $294,400.00 This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.
