Yes Job Description Summary Performs a variety of mechanical tasks related to performing general maintenance on university buildings. Hours for this 4 day, 10 hour position are Wednesday through Saturday, 3:30 pm to 1:30 am. Job Description Essential Duties: Performs repair work; replaces tile; repairs doors and window; unstops sinks and other plumbing fixtures; repairs steam valves; replaces motors and pumps on heating/air conditioning equipment; repairs electric switches and receptacles Reviews work orders and investigates site; determines proper repair procedures; estimates time and materials needed Serves as informational resource to staff Plans and conducts a comprehensive preventive maintenance program Cleans and maintains tools and equipment May assist in setting up of stages, rigging, curtains, and lighting system for special events Minimum Qualifications: Requires six months of mechanical/trade training beyond high school and two years of repair/maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Requires driver's license. Additional Position Information (if applicable) Required Knowledge‚ Skills‚ and Abilities: Knowledge of carpentry, electricity, and plumbing repair and maintenance Knowledge of mechanical repair Ability to read schematics Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated two or more years of experience in troubleshooting, diagnostics and repairs in multiple maintenance trade areas. Working Conditions Continuous standing or walking, frequent climbing, and lifting of materials weighing up to 75 pounds. Somewhat disagreeable working conditions.
