Overview: Works closely with senior managers within the division/enterprise to advise on Organizational Design and workforce implications tied to key initiatives, including supporting critical Enterprise projects related to strategic objectives of the Bank, improving risk management and ensuring efficiency and sustainability of core processes and positioning the Bank to meet evolving regulatory expectations. Leads and coordinates delivery of design, planning and implementation for time-sensitive, critical, programs and/or projects. Primary Responsibilities: Lead planning and implementing of new products, programs and initiatives to achieve short and long-term business objectives and strategic outcomes. Support development of project roadmaps and plans. Direct critical Bank-wide or divisional projects that may include planning, design and analysis of results, develop comprehensive documentation to align with regulatory expectations as needed, analysis of complex data sets, or analysis/optimization of data structures. Partners with executive management sponsors to plan and deliver Organizational Design engagements, interpreting business strategy and target outcomes to plan changes to business architecture, operating model and service delivery structures and workforce size, shape and composition. Constructs workforce models to assess impacts to talent, role and cost, aligning modeled outputs with target operating model objectives. Supports the creation and refinement of M&T's Organizational Design playbook, including development of tooling and analysis for use by key partners and leadership across the bank. Assist with defining strategy of new initiatives within the division/enterprise. May serve as subject matter expert to drive requirements, development, and production of complex ad-hoc and automated departmental analyses and reports, including workflow, project and strategic analysis and trend reporting. Synthesize large volumes of qualitative and quantitative information for analysis and decision-making. Coordinate and contribute to discussions and agenda development of regular conference calls and in-person meetings of with external peers or industry groups, agencies and select US officials to share best practices and promote industry advocacy efforts. Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. Complete other related duties as assigned. Education and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years’ relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 7 years’ relevant work experience Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and function as a member of a team Coach others in their area of expertise Excellent interpersonal and communications skills necessary for business partner relationships within and outside the organization Self-motivated, results driven, and well organized Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under time constraints in support of various assignments Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Outlook or equivalent Education and Experience Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Math, Accounting, Engineering, or Business Administration; Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or advanced degree Minimum of 8 years’ relevant work experience Banking/financial industry experience Expert in Six Sigma, Lean or Process Improvement, or project management methodology Experience with SQL, programming and statistical software Experience with financial, regulatory and/or process analysis, and technical writing Curious and innovative M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $100,611.94 - $167,686.57 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
