Support and lead initiatives in credit risk management, ensuring alignment with standards, and reporting to executive management.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 4+ years of initiative management, proficiency with relevant software, and ideally experience in financial services or credit risk.
Overview: Support the second line of defense credit risk management program and strategic initiatives in a dynamic environment. Provide oversight for initiatives through strong risk management expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and effective documentation of processes and procedures. Develop and enhance the risk management program to be in line with Enterprise Risk standards and industry best practices. Primary Responsibilities: Lead or support cross-functional, high-priority initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring alignment on scope, objectives, roles, and deliverables. Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, constraints, and assumptions for initiatives. Communicate plans effectively to ensure shared understanding, set expectations, and maintain stakeholder alignment. Drive timely execution of initiative tasks, escalating issues and risks as needed, and implement approved mitigation actions. Manage risk processes and system reporting within the Credit Risk Management Program Office, including Archer eGRC. Prepare professional reporting and presentations (e.g., PowerPoint) for Governance Committees and Executive Management. Provide support for ad hoc departmental needs and requests. Adhere to company risk and regulatory standards, identifying and escalating risk-related issues as appropriate. Promote a diverse and inclusive environment aligned with the organization’s values. Perform other related duties as assigned. Supervisory/ Managerial Responsibilities: Contributes to technical/professional direction for a discipline Education and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years’ proven initiative management experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 8 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 4 years’ initiative management experience. Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent software packages. Ideal Qualifications: Previous Commercial Credit/lending experience or relevant financial services industry experience Risk Management foundational knowledge Experience with the development of visualization and reporting solutions Power BI experience Knowledge of Agile and Lean principles and practices M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $89,600.00 - $149,300.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
