Product Manager - Storage & Docks The Product Manager for Storage and Docks will lead the strategy, planning, and execution of OWC’s external storage and connectivity product lines. This role is responsible for defining what we build and why, ensuring every product aligns with customer needs, business goals, and market direction. You will work closely with the SVP of Product to shape the strategic direction of your category, build a clear roadmap, and drive the product forward through every stage of development. You will also use a gate-based development process to track progress, align teams, and bring in the right stakeholders at key checkpoints. What a Product Manager Does at OWC Product Managers are responsible for the success of a product throughout its lifecycle. They define the vision, gather customer insights, analyze the market, and lead cross-functional collaboration from concept to launch. While engineering focuses on how a product is built, the Product Manager focuses on what to build and why. Their job is to bridge customer needs, business priorities, and technical execution. Own the full lifecycle for OWC’s storage and dock products, from early concept through launch and ongoing management Work directly with the SVP of Product on category strategy, roadmap planning, and long-term vision Define product requirements based on customer feedback, research, and competitive trends Collaborate with engineering, marketing, sourcing, and operations to define product features, cost targets, and timelines Use a gate-based development process to ensure clear checkpoints, team alignment, and timely stakeholder reviews Partner with marketing and sales on positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy Monitor product performance after launch and lead any needed updates or lifecycle planning Present updates and recommendations to executive leadership What You Bring with You? 5 or more years of experience in product management, ideally in consumer hardware or peripheral Familiarity with external storage devices, dock technology, and connectivity (USB, Thunderbolt, NVMe) Experience managing hardware products from concept to launch in a structured development process Strong communicator who can lead cross-functional work and write clear product requirements Data-driven mindset with the ability to build business cases and prioritize smartly Passion for building tools that support professionals, creators, and performance users Compensation Structure for the Position The compensation package for this role includes a starting base salary of $95,000 annually. The amount of variable compensation will be determined based on your experience, skills, and performance.
