Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Subsea Pipeline Engineer to join their world-class team in **Columbus, Ohio, US**. This role is crucial for the design, integrity management, and safe operation of subsea oil and gas transportation systems. The Senior Subsea Pipeline Engineer will be responsible for conducting detailed engineering analyses, developing design specifications, and ensuring compliance with all relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., DNV, API, ISO). You will oversee the complete lifecycle of subsea pipeline projects, from conceptual design through fabrication, installation, commissioning, and decommissioning. This position involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, geoscientists, and project managers, as well as working with contractors and vendors. Key responsibilities include route selection, pipeline route analysis, material selection, free span analysis, expansion stress analysis, and fatigue analysis. You will also be involved in the development and execution of pipeline integrity management programs, including inspection strategies, risk assessments, and repair recommendations. The ideal candidate possesses deep technical expertise in fluid dynamics, material science, structural mechanics, and corrosion engineering, specifically as applied to subsea environments. Strong project management skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication are essential. Responsibilities include: Leading the design and engineering of subsea pipelines, including route selection, hydraulic analysis, and material specification. Performing stress analysis, including thermal expansion, pressure containment, and fatigue analysis. Developing and reviewing engineering drawings, calculations, and technical reports. Ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards (e.g., DNV, API, ISO). Overseeing pipeline installation, commissioning, and testing activities. Developing and implementing comprehensive subsea pipeline integrity management plans. Conducting risk assessments and fitness-for-service evaluations for subsea pipelines. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including geologists, project managers, and offshore operations. Managing and coordinating with external consultants, fabricators, and installation contractors. Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on pipeline engineering. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in subsea pipeline engineering within the oil and gas industry. Demonstrated expertise in pipeline design software (e.g., SACS, PIPESIM, AutoPIPE). Strong understanding of subsea environments, installation methods, and integrity management practices. Knowledge of material science, corrosion engineering, and welding processes. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proficiency in project management and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks.
