We are seeking a driven and highly skilled Node.js Backend Engineer to join our founding team. This is an opportunity to help build a platform from the ground up and play a key role in shaping its architecture, features, and long-term direction. This role is unpaid at the early stage and is offered on an equity-based foundation. As the platform goes live and/or secures funding, the position is expected to transition into a fully paid role with salary. Key Responsibilities • Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services using JavaScript and Node.js. • Build secure and scalable APIs using modern frameworks such as Express.js, NestJS, or Koa. • Design and manage relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Firestore) including schema design, indexing, and data migrations. • Integrate and manage Stripe or similar payment gateways for subscriptions, payouts, and commissions. • Implement industry-standard API security practices (encryption, JWT/OAuth authentication, rate limiting, secure data handling). • Collaborate closely with the product, frontend, and strategy teams to deliver new features. • Work with Git, Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
