Operator / Construction Laborer - Remote - South Windsor, CT - Apex Companies - South Windsor, CT - work from home job Company: Apex Companies Job description: Position: Operator / Construction Technician - This is a hands-on position directly working on civil construction projects. We are looking for an experienced operator / construction laborer for projects that range between $150k-$2M in budget and 1-3+ months in schedule. You will be operating equipment and performing construction tasks. Industry: Operational Services Location: Remote - will deploy to work site from home location, preferably along the east coast with current projects in New England/Connecticut area. There will be multiple projects per year and successful applicant will be required to travel 100%. This position will report to a Project Manager or Foreman. Your Responsibilities as an Operator / Construction Laborer: • Operate hand-held and heavy construction equipment. • Assist Job Foreman/project lead as directed including hand excavation and surface treatment finishes • Ensure project work quality, safety performance, timelines, and budget are meeting expectations • Project communications- within team, vendors and clients; ability to create Work status reports in Adobe or Word document formats • Apply construction and regulatory compliance techniques. • Be an active participant in developing your own career. What we're looking for: • Comfortable traveling for 100% of your work week, with potential for being out on the road for up to 3-4 weeks; expenses paid. • Someone that communicates well and is dependable that we can count on to complete the job right within scope, schedule, budget and quality standards. • GED or High School Diploma, preferred. • 5+ years of commercial (non-residential) civil construction experience. • Experience with the operation of heavy construction equipment (e.g. skid loader, backhoe, excavator), hand tools. • Knowledge of sediment and erosion control. • Ability to work independently, communicate and problem solve with Apex Project Manager and General Contractor staff. • Able to perform manual labor. • Ability to Lift 60lbs • Hazardous Waste/Material • Landscaping/Construction • Work in Confined Spaces • Work in Inclement Weather • General carpentry and plumbing experience is beneficial. • CPR certification preferred. • OSHA 10, 20 or 30 required, HAZWOPER certification preferred but not required. • Comfortable using pickups/equipment trailers. • Valid drivers license, good driving record. • Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug screen and background check. • Thorough understanding of safe work practices in accordance with OSHA regulations To apply, simply TEXT APEX to 25000 and our virtual assistant, Olivia, will get you connected with our hiring team today or visit .
