Summary As a primary contact for our clients, and the first reviewer of new projects for our team, you’ll play an important role in setting the tone for everything we do. For the junior product owner position, you should have 1-3 years of experience in a technology-related role. You’re self-motivated, ambitious and curious. You’re ready to ask questions and willing to make mistakes – but always strives not to repeat them a second time. You’d like to create amazing digital experiences for a wide range of people: people with disabilities, people from a wide range of backgrounds and in diverse situations. On a daily basis, you will: • Respond to emails and Slack messages promptly • Be an active participant in meetings with our team and our clients • Follow our project workflows and keep our status tools updated • Facilitate conversations within our team and with our clients, asking questions and following up on answers, receiving and distributing digital assets • Learn and grow in your understanding of user experience, accessibility, inclusive design, and technology constraints • Collaborate and coordinate with a senior product owner This position requires a strong listener and an active mind to stay focused on the project’s big picture while delivering business value for the client quickly without deviating too far from an established roadmap of the finished product. The incumbent will educate and manage the expectations of external stakeholders while representing their interests to designers and developers on the team. Performance Priorities Communication to the client and internal teams to inspire and guide towards success. Understanding the needs and limitations of stakeholders and producers, being able to represent both perspectives and keep a project on track is critically important Requirements Gathering to write and prioritize the backlog of user stories, troubleshooting and problem-solving impediments to ensure that releases and deliverables are met using the acceptance criteria and standards established Collaborate through a deep understanding of the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC), team capacity, and sprint timelines, play an active role in problem-solving and working with teams to accomplish goals Specifically: • Basic knowledge of, or experience with, project management software, e.g., Jira, Asana, etc. • Exceptional and demonstrable customer service experience and skills • Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills • Previous agency experience (internships, short stints, freelance) a plus Soft skills that will help you stand out: • Self motivation • Positive, collaborative at all times, even in the midst of challenging situations • Pushing through problems to look for solutions • Detail-oriented work ethic • Developing yourself by reading in your field, having a network for contacts, and/or participating in the community • Self-awareness to play to your strengths and be ready to tackle your shortcomings Ready to Apply?
