Victory Recovery Partners is looking for a Spanish Speaking (bilingual) medical receptionist/medical assistant to join our growing team in Hempstead, NY. We are a network of outpatient addiction/recovery centers. Position: Full Time Hours: Monday: 12-8pm, Tuesday: 12-8pm, Wednesday: 12-8pm, Thursday: 9am-5pm, Friday: 12-5pm The Receptionist/Medical Assistant performs a wide variety of duties and responsibilities in a manner that places emphasis on quality of care and customer service, collaborating with medical staff to ensure a patient centered approach to care. Essential functions of this role: • Performs clerical duties that drive efficient patient flow • Prepares patients for provider visits • Answer phone calls • Schedule appointments • Conducts a review of scheduled patient’s charts to assist with pre-visit planning • Assists staff with completion of paperwork on behalf of patients including, but not limited to, prior authorizations for treatments and prescriptions, patient benefits, entitlements, disability and any other agency inquiries as assigned • Thoroughly records information with the EMR to meet clinical requirements • Prepares patients for provider visits and/or procedures by taking vital signs; accurately records medical history and assessing risk factors • Facilitates lab and diagnostic tests at the request of the ordering provider, including EKGs, Urine Drug Tests, Blood Draws, etc. • Conducts a review of scheduled patient’s charts to assist with pre-visit planning • Assists staff with completion of paperwork on behalf of patients including, but not limited to, prior authorizations for treatments and prescriptions, patient benefits, entitlements, disability and any other agency inquiries as assigned • Maintains exam rooms according to protocols. Cleans rooms between patient exams to ensure patients’ comfort and compliance with infection control standards. Ensures all necessary supplies are stocked Qualified Candidate : Candidate must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally, and must demonstrate the ability to multitask and work effectively in a high-stress and fast-moving environment. Excellent customer service skills required. Sensitivity to Drug/Alcohol Addiction, Mental Health Issues, HIV/AIDS, and LGBT issues essential. • Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent • Bilingual Spanish Speaking REQUIRED • Required Experience: At least 1 year experience working in a healthcare practice, experience at addiction treatment center preferred • Other Qualifications: • Strong Computer Skills, familiarity working with EMR strongly preferred. • High attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills We are looking forward to receiving your application.
