The individual will provide professional level financial analysis and reporting for the University of Pittsburgh School of Business. The Financial Analyst will work closely with the Assistant Director for Business Administration, Financial Affairs on any requests from the Dean and/or Senior Administrators. This position will be required to work with data and summarize data findings in a concise fashion. The Analyst will develop executive summaries as needed and will present findings on any ad-hoc requests. Must have excellent computing and analytical skills and be able to work independently. This position will work directly with the Assistant Director for Business Administration, Financial Affairs in preparing financial summaries for the Dean and Senior Administrators. The Financial Analyst will work in multiple computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Oracle Hyperion Planning to develop dashboards and perform budget analysis. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for the monitoring and reconciling of all financial data related to the school’s research accounts, revenue center accounts, endowed accounts, and all discretionary accounts. They will be responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and presenting this material to the school’s Assistant Director for Business Administration, Financial Affairs. In addition, the Financial Analyst will have full responsibility to reconcile and track all income accounts within Pitt Business. The Financial Analyst will work with School and University stakeholders to support regular compliance reporting and internal audit functions. The financial functions related to our endowed accounts will include monthly reconciling, financial reporting, and review for each account. These functions will also include revenue and expense projections, salaried personal activity report adjustments when needed, and working with the Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement (PAE) staff to ensure funds are spent in accordance with the donors wishes. The Financial Analyst must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and should be familiar with the University’s financial policies and procedures.
