GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Sr. Technical Consultant, Commercial and Institutional vertical, provides support to the ChemTreat field sales representatives, and ChemTreat customers as needed throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with a heavy concentration on Data Centers and High Tech applications. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES Work with Field and Corporate sales to support their efforts to sell new business, keep existing business, and improve the products and services ChemTreat provides our customers Available for field sales assistance to include prospect plant surveys, proposal preparation, sales presentations, and customer/prospect entertainment with the involvement of our field sales representatives. Work with R&D on projects to help serve our customers (e.g. new product development, new applications for existing products) Help ChemTreat align with Corporate KPI's of Customers Writing Technical papers and trade show publications Conduct equipment inspections classified as confined space as defined by OSHA will be required. Travel throughout the continental U.S. on an average of three days/two nights per week. Provide field troubleshooting and technical assistance as required to include problem solving, sales representative on-site training, operator training, and equipment inspections for Cooling Applications. Conduct site sustainability audits as required by facility owners in generating opportunities to improve all KPI’s, with emphasis on Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE). SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES Participate as a leader in Professional Trade Associations Provide office support function when not traveling to include telephone assistance, proposal and drawing proofreading, bid preparation, etc., as requested by our office clerical staff. Assist in field seminars, entertainment outings, and new account startup as directed by your manager. Provide sales and marketing support for specific industries in the Commercial and Institutional Vertical, with concentration on Data Centers. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Communication and Interpersonal skills; Teamwork and leadership Organizational skills; Self-management Technical and in-depth knowledge in Cooling Applications, including critical closed loops such as Direct to Chip Cooling (Tech Loops) and Facility Water Systems, Open Evaporative Cooling Systems such as Adiabatic and conventional cooling towers. Expertise in pre-operational cleaning and passivation of cooling systems In-depth knowledge of Chiller operation and Treatment Ability to present treatment recommendations in both oral and written communications. Open Evaporative Cooling Systems (Adiabatic, Conventional Cooling Tower) Development of Sustainability projects to help our customers save water and energy while optimizing production. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelors of Arts/Sciences or Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, engineering, or related fields. Ten years of field experience in water treatment will be considered as an equivalent to a four-year degree. 15+ years’ experience with a major water treatment company. Extensive background in Cooling Water Treatment for utility and process applications PHYSICAL DEMANDS Constantly required to sit and occasionally required to walk, stand, climb (includes stairs), balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk, hear, and smell Constantly using hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, and computer keyboards. Routinely required to reach with hands and arms, squat, turn/twist, or reach, lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus The Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT Required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for deliveries which may include: eye, hearing and respiratory protection, protective apron, steel toe shoes, gloves, hard hats, or face shields. Occasionally in extreme heat conditions Required to use ear plugs for hearing protection Both Indoor and outdoor sites may have high noise levels Outdoor site can be located at a cooling tower, water plant, or a process area. Use of hazardous chemicals is routine. The compensation range for this role is $170,000 - $180,000 USD per year.
