Job Title: Conversational AI Engineer IBM WatsonX Orchestrate Location: Remote Rate: Market Standards Join our dynamic Client IT Delivery team within the Data, Digital, Analytics, Technology (DDAT) division as a Conversational AI Engineer specializing in IBM WatsonX Orchestrate technologies. You will play a pivotal role designing and delivering next-generation conversational AI experiences that provide accurate, context-aware health insurance information to members and providers via digital channels. What You ll Do: • Architect, develop, and optimize rich conversational flows leveraging IBM WatsonX Orchestrate and AI capabilities. • Integrate AI conversations with external APIs through cloud functions or systems integration. • Collaborate with UI/UX designers and backend teams to ensure seamless intent fulfillment and user interactions. • Design, test, deploy, and maintain chatbot solutions across multiple communication channels (voice and chat). • Implement continuous improvements by tuning dialogue, enhancing speech-to-text models, and debugging chatbot behavior. • Apply AI and NLP best practices for intent recognition and training data curation. • Partner across teams to align conversational AI features with business goals and user needs. Required Qualifications: • 5+ years of software delivery experience with 3+ years in chatbot development, including hands-on work with IBM WatsonX Orchestrate or similar AI frameworks. • Proven expertise in intent recognition, NLP modeling, and conversational AI best practices. • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, unit testing, and source code management. • Backend development experience with Java, Node.js, or Python. • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for multi-language chatbot functionality. • Agile environment experience with knowledge of DevOps and end-to-end software lifecycle. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with IBM Watson Speech-to-Text, Watson Discovery, or related voice processing tech. • Familiarity with SSML for refining text-to-speech outputs. • Experience integrating unstructured data sources using semantic search or embeddings.
