URE is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Project Estimator to join our growing team. This role will support preparing accurate and competitive project estimates that contribute to the company’s profitability and strategic growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to efficiently gather data, evaluate key metrics, and provide cost-benefit insights that inform sound business decisions. Essential Responsibilities: • Support Senior Design Engineer and Project Estimator: Assist in all phases of the estimating process, including documentation review, cost analysis, and proposal development. • Review Project Documentation: Analyze construction drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and bid documents to understand project scope and requirements. • Scope Clarification: Identify and resolve discrepancies in project scope by gathering and analyzing relevant information. • Site Assessments: Conduct occasional field visits to assess site conditions and gather data to support accurate estimating. • Cost Estimation: Assist in estimating labor, materials, equipment, and administrative costs for projects. Participate in internal cost reviews and bid evaluations. • Market Tracking: Monitor commodity indexes and market trends to inform estimates and support risk mitigation strategies. • General Conditions Planning: Identify project needs such as tools, equipment rentals, lifts, and miscellaneous items. • Vendor Coordination: Request and track quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. Maintain timelines and update expired estimates as needed. • Cost Database Maintenance: Regularly update and maintain costing information to ensure accuracy and relevance. • Estimate Management: Support the planning and coordination of estimates in response to customer and internal requests. • Risk Mitigation: Provide recommendations to reduce pricing risks based on market analysis and project specifics. • Standards Compliance: Follow established estimating procedures and standards to ensure consistency and quality. • Proposal Development: Assist in drafting detailed proposals in response to RFPs, including pricing breakdowns and clarifications. • Relationship Building: Foster positive working relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and team members. • Team Collaboration: Work independently and collaboratively, accepting assignments and guidance from senior estimators and management. • Contract Support: Contribute to EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contracting by reviewing and editing contract documents. Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent; Two (2) year degree in related field preferred. • 2+ years’ experience in utility scale solar. • Electrical code knowledge, civil experience, and design/build estimating in the construction field preferred. • Strong organizational skills. • Ability to problem solve with a keen attention to detail. • Valid driver’s license. Location • A home office as the primary work location. • Preference is given to candidates in the Southeast region. • Light travel required.
