Job Summary This position serves as the Research and Construction Industrial Hygiene Programs Administrator within the UC Davis Health (UCDH) office of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S). Under general direction from the Associate Director of EH&S, work independently developing and implementing Health System industrial hygiene and occupational safety programs. Industrial hygiene oversight is focused on research spaces and construction/renovation risk management but can extend to any area of UCDH. Provide oversight and monitoring on safety-related issues in construction, research, operations and maintenance, and healthcare safety. Contribute to injury and illness prevention program and plan, including training, outreach, incident investigation and serving as a regulatory liaison. This position will serve as the EH&S Administrator On Duty (AOD) providing 24/7 response on a rotational basis. Preferred Qualifications • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Associate in Risk Management (ARM) • Advanced degree in Health and Safety, and progressive health and safety responsibilities. • Safety-related experience working in an academic or healthcare setting. • Experience with high-hazard safety programs (e.g. lockout/tagout, electrical, confined space, fall protection) • Experience with conducting audits/inspections • Experience with construction safety (e.g. plan review, site inspection) • Experience with injury investigation • Knowledge of infection control practices. • In-depth knowledge of how hospitals operate safely and in compliance with all laws, regulations, accreditation standards, hospital policies and procedures.
