Job Title Business Development Manager / Project Executive Company Traughber Mechanical Location: Franklin, KY Type: Full-Time Reports to: President /Vice President About Traughber Mechanical Traughber Mechanical is a well-established, family-oriented industrial contractor specializing in steel fabrication and erection, process piping, mechanical installation, millwright services, and heavy equipment rigging/moving for manufacturing, food & beverage, energy, and heavy industrial clients throughout the Midwest (and beyond). We pride ourselves on safety, quality craftsmanship, and long-term client relationships in a small-company environment where every team member makes a big impact. The Role We are looking for a driven, high-energy individual who can wear multiple hats and help us continue growing. This is a hybrid Business Development + Project Executive position perfect for someone who loves hunting new work and then making sure the jobs we win run smoothly and profitably. Key Responsibilities • Actively prospect, network, and develop new client relationships in the industrial, manufacturing, food processing, and energy sectors • Identify upcoming projects (bid opportunities, design-build, negotiated work, maintenance contracts, etc.) • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities • Serve as the main point of contact for key accounts – keeping owners, plant managers, and maintenance teams happy • Work hand-in-hand with our estimating team to develop competitive, winning proposals • Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and scope reviews • Once projects are awarded, act as Project Executive / primary customer liaison through completion • Coordinate with field superintendents and project managers to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and resolve any issues quickly • Attend regular job walks and client progress meetings • Assist with change-order pricing and negotiations • Help collect final payment and nurture the relationship for future work • Represent Traughber at industry events, association meetings, and local networking functions • Contribute to marketing efforts (LinkedIn posts, updated project photos, capability statements, etc.) • Jump in wherever needed – we are a small shop and everyone pitches in Qualifications & Experience • 5–10+ years in industrial construction, steel fabrication/erection, millwright/rigging, or mechanical contracting (field experience is a huge plus) • Proven track record of bringing in new work and growing existing accounts • Existing relationships with plant managers, maintenance supervisors, or general contractors in the region is a major advantage • Comfortable reading blueprints and understanding scopes of work • Strong estimating take-off and pricing skills (or willingness to learn our system) • Exceptional communication and people skills – you will be “the face” of Traughber to many clients • Self-starter who thrives with autonomy but works well with superintendents and office staff • Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, Viewpoint, or similar is a bonus • Willing to travel regionally (mostly day trips, occasional overnight) • Clean driving record and ability to pass drug screens and background checks
