As we expand throughout the state of California, we’re seeking a Project Engineer based in Sacramento, CA, to help drive successful project execution and support our teams in delivering exceptional results. The Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial tenant improvement projects. This role is essential to ensuring projects run smoothly, documentation is accurate, and communication among stakeholders remains clear and effective. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and excited to grow within a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities Typical duties include, but are not limited to: Project Support & Coordination • Assist Project Managers and Estimators with documentation, quantity take-offs, and materials pricing. • Maintain organized project files, logs, and correspondence. • Transcribe, prepare, and distribute project documents including budgets, RFIs, submittals, subcontracts, and change orders. Bid & Subcontractor Management • Contact subcontractors to confirm bid participation and address questions. • Coordinate and lead job walks, ensuring accurate project understanding for bidders. Procurement & Site Support • Order temporary jobsite facilities such as storage containers, dumpsters, restrooms, and equipment rentals. • Support project setup, mobilization, and close-out processes. • Assemble thorough and accurate close-out packages for client turnover. Qualifications • 3+ years of experience in a commercial construction environment. • Strong understanding of the tenant improvement (TI) construction process and general project management workflows. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to thrive with limited supervision, taking full ownership of tasks and accountability for outcomes. • Resourceful, proactive, and positive—especially under challenging or changing project conditions. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project); Monday.com CRM, experience with construction management software is a plus.
