Field Operations Coordinator – 2026 Hire Location: Pleasanton, CA – various job sites Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime) Pay Range: $30-40 per hour, depending on experience Department: Operations & Field Support About Us Thiessen Construction & Engineering (TCE) is a growing Bay Area concrete, earthwork and utility contractor with a tight-knit team and a reputation for craftsmanship, problem-solving, and integrity. We’re looking for a Field Operations Coordinator who wants to grow with us and take pride in working on everything from custom homes to large commercial buildings. Position Summary This role is full time and non exempt. We do not plan to fill this role until January 2026. The Field Operations Coordinator supports project operations through documentation, safety meeting assistance, change order support, and day-to-day coordination between field crews, office staff, PMS/supers, and vendors. The role requires consistent follow-through, strong communication skills, and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment. This is an in-person role based out of our Pleasanton office, with regular visits to the field as needed. Key Responsibilities Change Order & Billing Coordination • Understand contracted scope of work vs. extra work on jobs. • Collect photos, quantities, invoices, labor, and other required documentation for change orders and billing. • Verify field quantities and communicate completed work to the office for billing cycles. • Draft change orders for upcoming work in coordination with foremen and PM/GC. Safety Meeting Support • Lead biweekly. • Distribute topics, collect sign-in sheets, and communicate expectations to the field. • Support Office with safety documentation Material / Vendor / Delivery Coordination • Track material needs for jobsites and coordinate with Procurement Manager to ensure timely ordering and delivery. • Track jobsite rentals. • Collect delivery slips, receipts, invoices, and product tags for scanning and recordkeeping. • Communicate delivery timing, delays, and receipt of materials with foremen and the office. Plan & Documentation Support • Ensure field foremen have current plan sets; assist with printing, labeling, organizing, and delivering plans. • Maintain job documentation including uploading progress photos, completion photos, and other records into OneDrive or Monday.com. Administrative Support & Workflow Coordination • Use Monday.com, email, and shared calendars to organize tasks, deadlines, and communication. • Convert verbal/texted instructions from Managers into actionable Monday.com tasks and follow up to completion. • Assist with scheduling, calendar coordination, and general communication between field and office. • Assist tracking of PPE and tools distributed to employees. Required Skills & Knowledge Bilingual: Spanish & English Must be able to: • Communicate comfortably with Spanish speakers within and outside of TCE. • Communicate professionally in English Construction Knowledge • Ability to read and interpret blueprints/plan sets. • Familiarity with concrete, earthwork, underground utilities, and related terminology. • Ability to recognize extra work vs. contracted work and understand job progress. Administrative & Technical Skills • Comfortable with administrative tasks and digital tools. • Proficient (or willing to learn) in: Monday.com, Gmail/Gsuite, Microsoft Office Suite/Excel, Bluebeam, OneDrive, smartphones/Computers/tablets. • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and self-managed. • Able to follow directions, close loops, and maintain tracking systems accurately. Physical Requirements • Ability to visit active construction sites (walking on uneven surfaces, climbing in/out of vehicles). • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally. • Must be able to work in an office environment and use a computer for extended periods. • Must be able to drive for extended periods of time. Work Schedule • Monday–Friday, Occasional Saturdays as needed. • Typical hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM • Occasional overtime may be required based on project workload.
