JOB PURPOSE: The Education Programs Coordinator plays a vital role in providing leadership and strategic support to the programmatic, artistic, and operational efforts of the Education department. The Education Programs Coordinator should be a self-starter, passionate, and a positive contributor to a team that fosters creativity and collaboration, progressing Theatre Under the Stars’ impact across local, state, and national landscapes. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversee the administrative coordination and operational management of an assigned portfolio of programs within the Education Department, ensuring smooth and successful implementation from inception to conclusion. • Support the planning and execution of artistic operations to deliver high-quality performance programs across the Education Department. • Act as the on-site coordinator for classes and summer camps, providing exceptional customer service and fostering positive engagement with families, students, and external partners. • Serve as a professional representative and ambassador for Theatre Under The Stars within the local community and beyond. • Provides general front office assistance while on site. • Provide additional support for departmental activities as directed by the Director of Education. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: • Deeply interested in and enthusiastic about contributing to the mission of Theatre Under the Stars. • At least two years in an administrative support position (non-profit experience preferred). • Experience working with children and/or students. • Willingness and ability to learn internal database systems. • Knowledge and/or experience working in customer service serving diverse and inclusive populations. • Strong in organization,reliable, and proven record of delivering quality work in a timely manner. • Versed in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint) • Experience with SharePoint platform, or a similar digital organization platform. • Must be able to complete moderately complex mathematical functions. • Able to remain calm under pressure. • Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers with patience, tact, and diplomacy, maintaining Theater Under The Stars’ standards of customer service at all times. • Able to effectively communicate in English in both written and oral forms. Spanish is a plus. SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT • This role will oversee coordination of the following Education program(s): Performance Programs (Mainstage Teen Ensemble, Youth Productions, Student New Works Series, Performance Troupe, The Academy Company, Auditions) • This role provides direct support to the following Education program(s): Junior Theatre Festival • Work hours: 30 hours per week • 28 hours on-site • 2 hours remote for correspondence needs • Weeks of work: • December 8th, 2025 - August 31st, 2026 • This position may require a variable schedule when/if needed to support Education performances and productions that vary depending on the season. Adjustments to work hours may be made by the Director of Education, depending on programs/events throughout the year, with sufficient notice. Part-time employees will be compensated for additional hours according to company and department policy. COMPENSATION • $20 per hour ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS • Direct Report: Director of Education PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Frequency Key: • Rare - up to 1 hour • Occasional - 1-3 hours • Frequent - 3-6 hours • Constant- 6-8 hours
