Job Title: Banquet & Events Beverage Manager Location: Detroit, MI (Fully On-Site) Schedule: Full-Time/Requires Flexible Schedule Pay Rate: $25 per hour Position Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented operations professional for our beverage team and serve as the primary liaison between event operations and beverage services. This role plays a critical part in delivering exceptional event experiences and ensuring seamless execution from planning through completion. This role is responsible for leading the development and execution of departmental strategies aligned with banquet service standards and initiatives. The Banquet Beverage Manager ensures that the beverage and events operations consistently meet or exceed guest expectations, support employee engagement, and contribute to overall revenue growth and profitability. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two (2) years prior experience in luxury hotels, upscale private clubs, or high-volume banquet operations is required. Key Responsibilities: • Serve as the main point of contact between banquet operations and the beverage department to ensure seamless and cohesive event execution. • Lead with a strong focus on enhancing the client and guest experience, ensuring all events meet and exceed expectations. • Oversee and ensure accurate cash handling procedures during events, including reconciliation of cash bars, secure storage of funds, and proper documentation of all monetary transactions in accordance with company policy and audit standards. • Collaborate with the beverage operations and venue management teams to ensure alignment of beverage service commitments and timely, high-quality delivery. • Verify and reconcile inventory levels before and after events to ensure accurate tracking and accountability. • Assist in the development of beverage menus, pricing strategies, and service enhancements informed by client feedback and sales performance data. • Participate in leadership meetings and support broader organizational initiatives aimed at improving guest satisfaction and revenue generation. • Recruit, mentor, and supervise a team of private event bartenders, fostering a culture of professionalism and excellence. • Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including strict adherence to Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC) policies. • Provide operational support to the Sales Department by coordinating the beverage component of daily event functions. • Oversee all aspects of the event setup and breakdown, ensuring all specifications are fulfilled and guest expectations are met. Qualifications: • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a hotel, restaurant, or banquet setting • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining professionalism • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. • Proficiency in POS systems (e.g., Toast, Micros) and CRM software for tracking sales, guest preferences, and operational workflows.
