Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager and Production Planner to oversee procurement activities and coordinate production schedules within our manufacturing operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with expertise in supply chain management, production planning, and process improvement to ensure seamless operations, optimize resources, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing systems, ERP platforms, and lean manufacturing principles to drive efficiency and quality across the plant. Responsibilities • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with production needs, ensuring timely availability of materials and components • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee purchase orders to optimize costs and quality • Utilize SAP, ERP systems, and MRP tools to plan production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity constraints • Coordinate with manufacturing teams to align production plans with supply chain capabilities and operational goals • Monitor inventory levels and implement process improvements to reduce waste, minimize downtime, and enhance overall efficiency • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on lean manufacturing principles, process optimization, and quality control standards • Analyze supply chain data to identify risks, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for operational enhancement • Collaborate with production management to support operations management activities including resource allocation • Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality requirements throughout procurement processes Skills • Strong knowledge of production management, supply chain analytics, and operations management • Proficiency in SAP, ERP systems, MRP software, and manufacturing execution systems (MES) • Expertise in lean manufacturing methodologies such as continuous improvement and process optimization • Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing equipment and assembly processes • Experience in supply chain management including procurement strategies, supplier negotiations, and inventory control • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data for decision-making purposes • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration across departments such as engineering, quality assurance, and operations management This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to our manufacturing excellence through strategic planning, innovative process improvements, and effective supply chain management.
